Habitat : Grow wild in the deep forest and mountain regions of North-west Cambodia. It may also be found in the South-eastern Cambodia regions.
Description : Tree, 30~40 meters tall. Leaves are alternate and the flowers are scented. Burnt wood also gives of a characteristic fragrance.
Part Used : Wood
Constituents : Volatile Oil, baimuxinol and baimuxinic acid.
Medical Use : In traditional Cambodian medicine the wood, the woo is mixed with other drugs and used against malaria. Another variety called A. sinensis is used in medicine for its active principles baimuxol and dehydrobaimuxinol.

* 침향(沈香)나무.
서향과 또는 팔꽃나무과에 속하는 방향성 수지질의 상록교목
학명 : Aquilaria agallocha 또는 ~ crassna
원산지 : 미얀마,캄보디아,라오스,베트남등 인도차이나 전역.
크기 : 수고 10m 이상, 직경 10cm 이상.
분포 : 현재 미얀마, 캄보디아, 라오스에 집중 분포.(인도차이나에서는 해발 100~300m 가 최적의 재배지임)
재배 : 씨뿌리기 등 파종 및 묘종은 물기가 있고 그늘진 토양이 좋으며 이종 후 단지는 사토의 광활지가 적합하다.
